Alpine Fishing Guides offers drift fishing day trips (approx 7 hrs fishing), half days by arrangement and multi day float fishing trips for 1-2 fishermen.

Depending on the fishing conditions and time available, we can choose between drifting the Clutha, Hawea (both year-round) Makarora, Matukituki and Hunter rivers to find the best conditions possible.

For the more adventurous fishermen we can arrange helicopter access to drift fish some of the most remote stretches of river anywhere in the South Island and possibly the rest of the world (price by arrangement).

This is your driftfishing trip and using our professional guiding experience and local fishing knowledge we will customize it to ensure you get the most from your drift fishing experience.

Summer day rates from NZ $500 1 person , NZ$550 for 2 people .( max. 2 anglers)

Winter day rates from NZ $425 for 1 person, NZ $450 for 2 people (max. 2 anglers ) May - August

All trips include pick up and drop off from Wanaka accommodation.

Half day fishing trips by arrangement.

Equipment and tuition is provided.

We provide a good lunch and snacks to be taken at your leisure.

We can organise quality accommodation in Wanaka.

Transport from Queenstown airport or town centre to Wanaka at extra charge.

Our fishing guide is trained in river rescue and outdoor first aid and is a New Zealand qualified White Water Rafting Guide, Grade 3.
